A quirky collection of songs.

If you are like me and already have most of Barbra's sheet music, have a look at what's in this book. This collection is by no means a greatest hits collection. There's no "People" or "Evergreen". But if you have collected other Streisand books, you'll have several copies of those songs already. No, it's the slightly more quirky songs that are in this book. And that's why I love it.
From the very first album, we have "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" and "Keepin' out of of Mischief". There's "free again" and it's French translation (non, c'est risen) from Colour Me Barbra and the French album. I love "Great Day" from Funny Lady,
There are 20 songs by Barbra, some of which I have looked for years to find the sheet music to. If you just want her hits, buy the music to "the Collection". This is for the dedicated fan.

A Classic Work

A very well done re-publishing of James G. Needham, Stuart W. Frost , and Beatrice H. Tothill's Leaf-mining Insects. The original book costs about $60 used but the condition might vary. This book has excellent pages as if the old book was new. The graphics have been perfectly copied and the gray-tones in the illustrations are accurate. I appreciated this copy.

Very touching

This is a book about a middle-class teacher who takes a job teaching homeless kids in Salt Lake City. She talks about the kids individually, the problems they had to face being homeless and the joys when she made a breakthrough. It was a lesson on hope and defiance of the odds. I found it especially touching when Karl Malone, a basketball player for the Utah Jazz, took the homeless students Christmas shopping and took them to a Jazz game. I found this to be a wonderful portrayal of the joys and trials of teaching homeless kids.

POWERFUL, INSIGHTFUL and DEEPLY TOUCHING

A beautifully written and honest collection of deeply touching stories that allows the reader a rare opportunity to see life through the tender, young eyes of a child living in a family homeless shelter, as told by their loving dedicated teacher. When the author was first asked to work in the 'School With No Name,' she had no specialized training or curriculum in working with this specialized population of students. But this pioneer let her heart be her guide as she created one of the best pilot programs in alternative education. Her stories will make you laugh, make you cry and will even make you angry. But most of all, it will challenge and inspire you to get involved and find your own special way of making a difference.

This book is about connecting with children and adults no matter their situation. It is about compassion and being non-judgemental. It is about seeing what is extraordinary in every child even when they are trying hard to hide from the world. Stacey Bess is intuitive, honest, straight-forward and compassionate. She connects with children not because she is perfect but because she realizes that she is human just like her students. If you want to find stories that will move you and inspire you, then this book is a path to that place.

Instead of focusing on the outward trappings of wealth (such as a higher salary, profits from trading stocks or a better job), the authors say, people should become more aware of what they want out of life and what legacy they want to leave behind. Zimmerman and Rosen, who run the consulting firm Inner Securities Inc., write in simple sentences, using a bold typeface for emphasis, to deliver their message. One of the best books of this kind

Just about everyone seeks out some sense of security and wealth in order to lead a fulfilled and happy life. The problem lies in how we define security and wealth. We all have various concepts of security and wealth that have been defined by our culture, our parents, our friends, and our experiences. This is a shaky foundation on which to base your happiness.
In "Inner Security and Infinite Wealth" the authors examine the concepts of will, inheritance, ownership, value, trust, allowance, investment, appreciation, and exchange and redefine them into deeper concepts instead of being only related to money. They recognize that money is an important part of net worth, but reframing the above concepts can change an individual's relationship with money. Enlightening, well written, and powerful, this is easily one of the best books of the year in the area of self-worth and a highly recommended purchase.

Great book to help increase abundance in life

This book is part instruction manual, part inspirational guide. It offers the reader new definitions of traditional financial terms, in order to reach a deeper level and experience of security and wealth. I really love the way the authors take each chapter and focus on one aspect of wealth and how we can embody it more fully or possibly for the first time ever in our lives! This book needs to be read by anyone interested in altering, for the better, the way they view wealth, abundance, security and prosperity.

Glad I bought it.

It's encouraging to see two people involved with finance and business and such go to the effort to write something like this. They've done what no one else, to my knowledge, has yet been able to do: strike a realistic, achievable balance between the American drive to succeed and acquire, and our tendency to try and do so in the most ignorant, ham-handed way possible. They teach that it is possible to earn and amass money while still living true to all the lofty ideals we had in college. The only thing that bums me out is that too many people will thumb through it and immediately think "ah, bunch of hippy dreamers." Trust me, the hippies wish they had a vision this clear and universally applicable.

An excellent first book for the new aircraft designer.

On a preliminary evaluation of the book, I am impressed with it. The book is very clearly laid out and though not a comment on content, I am quite a fan of the book's form factor. Starting with the first few chapters including a review of practical aerodynamics and performance methods, Nicolai writes in a manner very suitable to a person without any design experience particularly in aircraft. He gives a very good explanation of the overall design process and how his book fits into it.

The book has a excellent mix of theory and practical application. Much theory is given to explain how and why things are the way they are but this is accompanied by real world data and practical application.

My only gripe, though very petty in the overall scope of things, is the lack of mention of light sport aircraft which I believe is the best thing to happen to light general aviation in recent years.

In his book, Nicolai also refers to Roskam and Raymer's text. Having Roskam's set of books, I can say that they are indeed an invaluable resources however, Nicolai's book is significantly better laid out and features somewhat better explanations of things. This is particularly true of the introductory chapters which I believe is sufficient to get the new aircraft designer on his feet with a clear idea of how to proceed. I can't exactly say the same for Roskam's Part I which involves less theory and more explanation of the use of formulae and method.

Once I read the book in more depth, I will edit this review as necessary.

Best in aircraft design

Having worked in preliminary design of modern commercial airliners for several years I must say, this is the book which best summarizes the current industry practices. Maths are down to the relevant amount, reflecting the real ways of working, which makes it a readable book at the same time. The large aircraft/engine/aero database in the appendix adds a lot of value, as reference data is the most important thing in preliminary design.
Highly recommended to students in aircraft design and also to engineers who are looking for an answer on why aircraft look the way they do.
AIRSHIP ENTHUSIASTS BEWARE: This book does not cover airship design at all.

A very good Aircraft design book !

We use this book for our senior design class at The University of Texas at Arlington, this book is sold through AIAA also, it is a well organized and structured book for a student and even graduates who are looking for reference books. This books focuses on physical and technical understanding required for designing an aircraft with a little bit of historical background. This book also includes some color photos and graphs, I would recommend buying this book.
