A neat book that could be improved to the next edition.

There is a need for a How-To Program PowerShell for SharePoint 2013 book but this one would be better after another revision. The introduction to PowerShell should benefit of PowerShell information found in Chapter 2 in Microsoft SharePoint 2013: Designing and Architecting Solution by Shannon Bray et al and/or from the excellent short PowerShell introduction in Inside Microsoft SharePoint 2013 by Scott Hiller et al and/or from Chapter 7 in Professional SharePoint 2013 Administration by S. Young et al. For instance, Steven Mann does not even describe the pipe command in the introduction and the pipe command is also missing from the index. Nothing is mentioned about dispose issues and about the advantages of using teh all important Start-SPAssigment ... Stop-SPAssigment.
In the next edition, I would also like to see the book expanded with a better introduction to PowerShell and new chapters about 1 site column/field, 2 content type, 3 lists, 4 libraries, 5 webpart set up/configuration 6 permission levels and 7 SharePoint groups, respectively; then the book would be really good.

Must have if you play N C6

This is the best book on N-C6 that I am aware of. I started playing these lines as a kid because in my area this opening was popular. Meyers is a well known N C6 expert and I played against him and going over our game he convinced me that this may not be the best opening but it is hard to play against if you are not prepared. I have a lot of material on this opening and if you play these kind of lines then you must have this book. I like how it was organized and it is easy to read. It helped to bring my other material into focus. Meyers has his own book on N-C6 but this one is 10 times better.

bad, unappetizing book

as a 2000+ USCF player who specializes in 1.nc6 (and 1.b6) i am very disappointed with this book. first of all, the e5 nizmowitsch is not covered but thats still acceptable, but the author unfairly cowards away from 1.d4 nc6!? which is a fully playable defense ( in fact my first master scalp was with it!).Besides that, the author recommends some pretty dry recommendations that dont appeal to the true nimzo player

here is list of problems

- the book completely ignores 1.e4 nc6 2.nf3 d6 which is the heart of the nimzowitsch defense and instead recommends a positionally horrendous alternative dubbed "el columpio" which can easily be refuted by engines. there is even a line, where white sacs a pawn, to double BOTH blacks h and e pawns! how an IM can recommend that is insane.

- the book doesnt cover 1.e4 nc6 2.d4 d5 3.nc3 dxe4, i dont know what tree branch the uthor has been sleeping on, buts far from being on the border of refutation like he claims. after 4.d5 not only is ne5 compex but acceptable, but the simple nb8 5.nxe4 c6! almost immediately equalizes and its easy to play. his recommendation of transposing to the nc6 french inst bad but its contrary to our nimzo spirit!

-agaisnt c4, the author simple recommends, transposing to boring e5 lines, seriously!?

-in the advanced nimzowitsch, he completely neglects 1.e4 nc6 2.d4 d5 3.e5 bf5 and instead recommends the not as respectable f6!?. bf5 is the better alternative as played by nimzowitch himself and 3...ne2 is far from a refutation, and just undermines the better move.

-like a review above states, some lines are completely torn to shreds by a strong engines.

not all is bad, the coverage on 1.e4 nc6 2.d4 d5 3.exd5 is actually well done and its a decent book if you want to learn the chigorin (although if you want to learn to only play that, morozevich book on it is better)but it fails to find a balance. not only is it plagued with dubious lines that are objectively questionable when better alternatives where available, but when the author can recommend combatative lines, he often shies away.

if you want to read a book on a good unorthodox opening with black, thats very well written, i recommend play 1.b6 by christian Bauer, but if you want to master the nimzowitsch defense specifically, stay away from this book.

Excellent chess book

I highly recommend this book to all those chess players who want a complete black repertoire in one book . You can play 1...Nc6 against anything White throws at you and let tactics then decide. The first part of the book( up to about page 93 ) covers the 1. e4 Nc6 lines . The next section (pages 94-186) is the Chigorin defense which is an excellent choice but requires much study. Pages 213-263 covers 1.c4 and 1. Nf3 . My rating has jumped a couple hundred points by studying this book along with my White repertoire book . Good luck !

Mostly set in the 200th year of the Emperor's Great Crusade. On Caliban civil war erupts. Many strive to break from Imperial rule. Brother-Librarian Zahariel and his men, under orders from El'Jonson's second-in-command (Luther), fight almost nonstop. An evil taint seems to suffuse parts of the planet itself. Roots and vines seethe with corruption of an awful, otherworldly sentience.

Meanwhile in the stars, Lion El'Jonson believes that Warmaster Horus will attempt to take the fully-operational forge within the Tanagra system. He sends a small, hand-picked force to the keep the wealth of Diamat out of Horus's hands. Brother-Redemptor Nemiel (cousin of Zahariel) and Brother-Sergeant Kohl lead this force. However, El'Jonson knows of another reason the Warmaster is interested in Diamat.

***** FOUR AND A HALF STARS! This is the sequel to book six, Descent of Angels. Unless you read it first, you may find yourself lost in this story. Events basically pick up where Descent of Angels left off. (Zahariel and Luther land on Caliban after El'Jonson sent them away.) The author had to show what was happening on Caliban, as well as in the Crusade, and he did an admirable job of it! Zahariel and Nemiel are cousins. Zahariel is on Caliban with Luther. Nemiel is with El'Jonson in space. I found it very interesting to see how the author juggled the two similar men and how the battles end up shaping each.

This well crafted story will keep your attention and perhaps give you a few surprises as well. *****

Loved it!!!

This is an excellent read and a worthy addition to the series. I had the good fortune of reading "Decent of Angels" right before I read this. It is an excellent and rich story with obvious plot points to be continued in the future. This part leaves you wanting that third book now. I have completed books 1-6, and 11 in this series, all in the last three weeks. This is an excellent series and this chapter of the story was highly enjoyable. I would definately suggest you read this novel after "Decent", while it takes place 50 years after the events in "Decent", the characters are the same. I think it just added to the richness of the entire story for me without having to reintroduce myself to the characters.

Perfect development of the divergent directions of the Dark Angels

This story neatly wraps up all loose ends from Descent of Angels while developing the plot lines hinted or laid there; all the while staying true to the established lore of the 40K Dark Angels. The growing distance between the Lion and Caliban can bee seen; the conflicts raging inside Luther are also developed. It is perhaps Luther's story and growth (or the opposite?) that is most compelling. Luther is a very sympathetic character. You can see him going bad, kinda of don't blame his bitterness, feel sorry he's being trapped by that bitterness by Chaos, and identify with him. However, you also know the outcome and you wish he would turn back at any moment. The book tells the full tale of Luther's fall from grace and sets the stage for the Fall of Caliban. It also sets up how different the legion crusading with the Lion is verses the Legion on Caliban. The die is cast for the Fallen vs the Dark Angels.

This book is based on Williamson's discovery of A Course in Miracles , a self-help guide whose provenance she doesn't explain. Age 26 at the time and feeling lost and desperate after indulging in the excesses of the 1960s, the Jewish author had no real hope for inspiration from the course because of its Christian terminology. But, she writes in this guide to the guide, the program works "miracles" for herself and for others who adopt its principles. Her extrapolations may appeal to readers in need of spiritual sustenance, but one questions Williamson's advice to the gravely ill. When she encourages them, for example, to "write a letter to AIDS or cancer or whatever illness they might have, and tell it everything they feel"--even to fabricate "replies" from the disease--readers are likely to consider that a serious situation is trivialized. This book is based on the author's experiences as a teacher and lecturer on the self-study guide A Course in Miracles (Foundation for Inner Peace, 1975), the students of which attribute its authorship to Jesus Christ. Using humorous personal narrative, Williamson explains how applying love to all difficulties, as advised by "The Course," can aid in healing. Some may find the theories and practices presented here somewhat off-putting (e.g., Williamson counsels people with AIDS to write letters to the disease, rather than use fear and hatred to fight it). However, New Age followers or fans of Gerald Jampolsky ( One Person Can Make a Difference , LJ 11/1/90) or Louise Hay ( You Can Heal Your Life , Hay House, 1984) will enjoy this title. Make a change in your life simply by willing it to happen!

I had been in a dead end relationship for a good number of years. I wanted to keep it going but the other side of me wanted to just end the relationship. I hoped and prayed that one day the relationship would cease to exist. It was then that I came across the is wonderful book, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of a Course in Miracles. I quickly took to it and thought that all these years I had the power all along to end the unhappiness that I had been experiencing. I was so relieved yet happy to know that the universe was not in charge of me changing but instead it was all in my hands to make the needed changes.

Soon after reading this book, I came along to the other book called Manifestation Magic: Attracting Abundant Wealth, Incredible Health, Great Relationships, and Limitless Success Into Your Life. This book was a lot more in detail about the various things that we are able to change and turn around in our lives. The biggest of these is that we actually have the power to reverse illness. This concept totally blew my mind and made me wonder what else I had been missing out on in life. The power is within all of us and after reading this book, I was quickly able to see ways that we are able to affect the course of our life on a regular basis.

While these books alone can give you a lot of insight, these two together help to unlock the whole mystery that is set in front of a person. Regardless of what the real secret is that unlocks all of the mysteries of life, you need to just know that the answer is a lot closer than you might expect it to be.

Great book for our times. How we can change our lives by loving ourselves and others who are here to learn and to experience this world just as we are. By trusting in a Higher Power that created and manages universes to create and manage a new improved life for us. By surrendering our manic control of which we have very little of anyway, and focusing (remembering) on what we really do have control over, our attention. Returning our attention to each other with consideration, compassion, understanding, (as we would want for ourselves) and most of all, with the most powerful and beautiful force that exists, Love.

Ok intro to loa

Felt slightly outdated but the concepts opened my mind to start reading more into the laws of attraction. Recommend newer books like deliberate receiving finally the universe makes from freaking sense. But this isn't a bad first read into the laws of attraction. She opens saying how she was weird & unloved & I now feel bad for saying its outdated - I think she has done newer stuff I'll check out :)

painful, but true insight into the death of this ...

A thralling inquest into the surprising death of Pope John Paul I less than a month after his installation as Pope. The sinister circumstances of his death point to murder. David Yallop painstakingly follows this cold case and reveals evidence surpresesd by the Church Bureaucracy at the time of his death. Following the evidence leads to one of only three high ranking Cardinals with unfettered access to the Pope just prior to his death, along with their motives. This inquiry names names and gives a heartbreaking, painful, but true insight into the death of this pious, loving, bold, revered Pope. A play, currently being performed, is based upon this book. Excellent, shocking, and accurate: .A murderous tragedy of history, both for the Catholic Church, and for the world. I approached this book with skepticism. However, after reviewing and checking the accuracy and facts of this cold case, I am convinced of the sad motives and evidence that points to the suspected murderers. Reading this book, you are there at the moments just prior to his murder.

Was Pope John Paul I Murdered?

In God's Name is definitely a page turner especially for readers who love stories about conspiracies particularly about the supposed murder of Pope John Paul I,who apparently died in his sleep after being the the Vicar of the Roman Catholic Church for only 33 days - the shortest in papal history.Yallop presents a theory that the pope was in "potential danger" due to the corruption in the Vatican Bank that the pope intends to clean up and the changes that he intends to make in the Catholic Church.Added to that,he was up against Masonic forces that have interest in the Vatican Bank.What is also interesting is the fact that Yallop also presents theories that some forces in the Vatican tried to cover up the murder particularly when the Pope was found dead in his sleep.Added to that,the third secret of Fatima was also being exposed as grossly misinterpreted considering that the death of the so-called "bishop in white" refers not to the failed assassination of Pope John Paul II but the murder of John Paul I. This is truly very interesting and written excellently.

it left me gobsmacked that a church like the Catholic Church should be so greedy for money ...

This book is well researched but a bit repetitive. There are many protagonists to get through and I was flat out keeping up with all the crooks in the Vatican. I think David Yallop is on the money as far as he asserts that Pope John Paul 1 was murdered. He sets out very clearly his views on this such as no autopsy and no published death certificate on such a public figure. Also the embalmers were called in when the body was still warm. I agree with David Yallop's thinking that there is too much corruption in the Vatican. With regard to the money laundering, it left me gobsmacked that a church like the Catholic Church should be so greedy for money and profits whereas its Founder, Jesus Christ, was quite happy wandering around Galilee as a Palestinian Jew in swaddling clothes and thongs. Well done David Yallop. I

Bought this for my sister in law as her child is 5 months old, it's her first baby therefore she's not too familiar with everything and guess what, she couldn't stop reading it once she started! An interesting guide on raising a baby

My best friend has just given birth to a beautiful baby girl and I thought I'd get a book on raising a baby so I could help her with caring for her baby. This book is indeed very insightful, comprehensive and helpful! It's great how the author includes everything from a baby's milestones to something more minor like suggesting vaccination. From knowing practically nothing about raising a baby, I've just gain a trove of knowledge. An interesting read even for non parents like me.

Never thirst again

A wonderful and insightful commentary on the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in chapter 4 of John's Gospel. Provides links and readings to other writings showing the importance of wells and water in biblical times. My major "AHA" on this book was the way in which the author demonstrated how this encounter showed reconciliation in practice at three levels - between men and women; between nations and between God and humanity.
