Great translation and print format!

This printing of Lattimore's translation of Aeschylus' Oresteia preserves the original pagination, which is great for consistency of page references in the classroom. While I like both the Fagles and Lattimore translations of Homer, I prefer Lattimore's translation of the Oresteia for it's retaining what I perceive to be the conundrums of the original; it doesn't over-interpret the text, which (in his frequently helpful way) Fagles sometimes seems to do. It comes down to what you're looking for in a reading. I'd suggest the difference is something like that between the ESV and the NASB for me--sometimes I prefer the seemingly clear familiarity of idiom in the ESV and sometimes the breathtaking strangeness of the more literal NASB.
Either way, these are great plays and this translation and edition deliver a readable text that lends itself particularly to classroom discussion.
